01/07/2008 - After several years trialling, Delacon is proud to formally launch the Speech Receptionist, an automated secretary that answers every call clearly and professionally, making inbound and internal call management simple for all Australian businesses regardless of size. Using advanced voice-recognition technology, the Receptionist automatically transfers calls to the stated individual or department.

What makes Delacon's system unique is the web interface: the Speech Receptionist can be set-up in a matter of minutes and managed entirely by the company online.

No longer will customers sit through exhaustive touch-tone instructions, or staff wade through out-of-date internal phone directories. Delacon has developed a feature-rich product. The Speech Receptionist will:

  • Generate Reports. With such detail as the number called, time, date, IVR selection and the number they were diverted to.
  • Divert Calls. After hours call routing to any specified number
  • Update Instantly. Add up to 10,000 new staff or departments to the system
  • Take Messages. Voice messages sent as wav files to the designated email address.
  • Screen Calls. The Receptionist asks the caller's name, which is automatically forwarded to the recipient who then decides whether to take the call.
