NSC establishes dedicated Sun practice
Hires 22 staff; aims for $25m in Year 1
The NSC Group has been appointed one of only five Sun Microsystems Executive Business Partners in Australia. Under the partner agreement, NSC has established a dedicated Sun practice headed by former Sun senior executive, Michael Salama.
Mr Salama will lead a team of 22 former Sun sales executives and systems engineers - many of whom are already in place across Australia and New Zealand.
According to Craig Neil, MD, NSC Group, the company is forecasting revenues from the Sun practice of AUD$25 million by end of FY10.
“NSC has been a Sun partner since early 2008,” said Neil. “We see this as a logical extension of current desktop virtualisation focus and are excited to embrace the full Sun Systems, Storage & Software solutions offering.” “We are establishing a “services-lead” Best Practice for the Australian and New Zealand market leveraging our highly successful and proven Managed Services model,” he said.
“I believe this services-lead approach combined with our successful and well established business, recognisable entrepreneurial culture and innovative commercial models will differentiate NSC from other players in this market,” concluded Neil.
“Sun has always had a very partner-centric model where we reward partners for selling our solutions. The establishment of NSC’s dedicated Sun practice shows the commitment of NSC to work with Sun to deliver the best possible solution to the market. As an Executive Business Partner, NSC will have access to all Sun products from our systems, software and services portfolio to enable it to offer the full breadth of Sun’s solutions to its customers,” said Sam Srinivasan, Director of Partner Sales, Sun Microsystems, ANZ.
NSC will provide specialised resources in Sun systems, storage and software solutions, providing organisations with a new level of efficiency and economy as they look to embrace Cloud computing and improve datacentre effectiveness. |
